Good afternoon,
Several weeks ago, we were asked by both Senator Mark Grisanti and
Assemblyman Robin Schimminger to help them with a message to state Department
of Health officials, urging them to make certain Western New York was treated equitably in the Delivery System
Reform Incentive Payment process. All of our respective Western New York state
senators and assembly members signed those letters.
Our efforts with the Senator and the Assemblyman have yielded excellent
results: a letter from state Medicaid
Director Jason Helgerson, assuring your elected representatives that he will
work vigorously to make sure their healthcare constituents are treated
equitably in the process—and further promising he will report back quarterly to
legislators on the progress of the
Medicaid Waiver program process (see the letter, below).
This is an example of how building relationships with our elected
leaders—-through your many visits and phone calls—-have yielded results through
those efforts. We are proud to serve as
a catalyst to that relationship. We are
also proud to work diligently to ensure our members are treated equitably in
DSRIP and other state health department initiatives.
Thank you, as
always, for your continued support and participation in our legislative efforts
on your behalf.
Sincerely,
John
John Bartimole,
President
Western New York
Healthcare Association
